The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest pieces of literature known. It was an account of the Sumerian warrior-king Gilgamesh's battle with the legendary cryptid known as Kur. According to the Epic, Gilgamesh crossed the ancient world and discovered a solution in the Legion of Garuda, who aided him using a magic flute to banish the spirit of Kur from this world.

History[]

One of the cuneiform tablets of the Epic was in the hands of a Roman garrison in Algeria during the Punic Wars. This tablet ended up in the cave of an Algerian Sea Centipede, only to have been seized from its lair by the viking King Olaf. The tablet was taken back to Scandinavia where it was buried with the king.

Epic of Gildimish

The Saturdays unearthed the tablet from Olaf's grave to find a solution to Zak's Kur power.

Trivia[]

Unlike its depiction in the show, the story of the real life Epic detailed Gilgamesh's friendship with the wild man Enkidu and how Enkidu's death caused him to embark on a quest for immortality.
